I received a rent increase for $80 after living in an apartment for 1 year. It is a 7% increase for me. I did get a 30 day notice of the increase. Is this legal and correct??Can anyone tell me what is the % for rent increases in apts. if there is no rent control?
if there is no rent control as u say a clause for increaments in rent has to be in the tenancy agreement mutually agreed or the increase if arbitrary is illegal.....Can anyone tell me what is the % for rent increases in apts. if there is no rent control?
Read your contract and the laws and rules where you live.
In Ca If there's no rent control, any increase is perfectly legal.
