9 week old pup keeps pottying and peeing on carpet shortly after waking up. he has no bladder control. why?

my 9 week old pup after waking up pees and potties very quickly. it is not even 3 minutes he is awake that he decides to relieve himself on carpet.

I do not even get the chance to take him out because he acts so fast to answer nature's call. Why can't he control and hold himself till i take him outside?

It seems he has no ability to hold it. Why?

Same reason human babies wear diapers. They are too young to have bladder control You just have to get them to the potty place when they need to go. When they wake up you have to take them out immediately. You might even have to pick him up %26amp; carry him outside. Not giving him a chance to squat. Puppies start to gain bladder control at about 12 weeks. Before that time, it's actually YOU that gets trained. Take him out right when he wakes up %26amp; about 10 minutes after he eats. The rest of the time you need to watch him all the time for signs he has to go, like sniffing %26amp; circling. When you can't supervise him, place him in his crate. Good Luck. It does get better!9 week old pup keeps pottying and peeing on carpet shortly after waking up. he has no bladder control. why?
Most puppies do not have full bladder or bowel control until they're around six months old. A good rule of thumb is to expect a puppy to hold it for about as many hours as his age in months. In other words, a two-month-old pup can hold it for two hours in a crate, a three-month-old pup for three hours in crate, and so on, up to about six to eight hours for an adult dog.

Just like people, as soon as puppies wake up, they need to urinate. Make sure to rush him outside and tell him to go potty or whatever terminology you want to use. Then make sure to PRAISE him and pet him and tell him what a good puppy he is. We usually say ';good potty';.

At night, it's best to pull the water bowl up at 6pm or so, so he doesn't over drink and have to potty in the middle of the night. Then make sure to let him out to potty before he goes to sleep.

We find this works great and they love the praise. As they get older, when we want to take them for a ride in the car, we tell them to ';go potty'; before getting into the car and they go within 5 minutes...so no accidents occur in our vehicle! =)

It shouldn't take more than a week or two of rushing him outside first thing in the morning and he'll have it down pat and be at the door before you are!
You are expecting too much from such a young dog, first and foremost.

they are still learning bladder control, and quite likely, when he wakes up, it means his system says it is time to go...that is perhaps what wakes him up?

Perhaps not, but when he does wake up, take him outside and be prepared to wait because they do not seem to want to go right then. They will...and praise him when he does. It will not be all that long before he associates with going outside and your praise as good things. It just takes time.
it is because the doggy is younge and you can have it potty trained by putting dog pads all over your house and making sure ur dog pees and poops on the pads and if it doest, gently press the dogs head over the pee and make sure that it smells it and if it were to pee on the pad, treat the dog with a treat and it will eventually lear. you should at least take the dog out 5-6 times a day so that it pees outside. you could also get is trained at stores like PetSmart.

hope this helps you
My dog has had about 5 litters of puppies. Every time they wake up they immediately pee, they're little and don't know much. I suggest every time you see him wake up take him outside onto the grass, or put him on newspaper. He'll eventually learn, he's just getting used to life.
a puppy wont have full control over its bladder until it is 6 months old. you need to be really quick, as soon as his eyes are open and his head is off the ground and he starts to stand up, pick him up and put him outside, its what i did when my dogs were puppy's.
pups are almost like children to have to teach them to control there bladder %26amp; show them where it's okay to potty at........ also u might want to check into puppy training pads or crate training the pup.
He is 9 weeks old. patience my friend. the long term companionship villeins much for the few weeks of inconvenience you are dealing with.
they are too young to have that kind of muscle control.
he still is only a puppy. you should take him out straight away. his bladder would be TINY
